Webcam Recorder

Record video with audio from any camera: live preview, timer and instant download.

Private by design: recording happens inside your browser and the file is saved on your device. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Start camera

Start the camera first. Nothing is captured before you press record.

Recordings stop automatically at 5:00 to keep the file manageable. Mirroring only affects the preview. The saved file is never mirrored.

Record webcam video with sound in seconds

  1. Press Start camera and allow camera and microphone access — preview stays on this page.
  2. Pick a camera when there is more than one, and toggle the mirror preview if you like.
  3. Press Record: the timer and the growing file size show the capture is alive.
  4. Press Stop and save: the clip stays on your device and plays back right here.
  5. Download the WebM or MP4 file, record again, or discard it — stopping releases the camera.
  6. Recording stops by itself at 5:00 so files stay easy to share and store.

Recording questions

Does it record audio too?

Yes. The recorder asks for the microphone together with the camera, so the clip carries sound. If the browser blocks the microphone, allow it and start again.

Which file format will I get?

The browser picks the best supported format automatically — WebM in Chrome, Edge and Firefox, MP4 where WebM recording is unavailable. The format is shown before you download.

Does mirroring change the saved file?

No. Mirroring only flips the on-screen preview to feel like a mirror. The downloaded video keeps the camera's true orientation.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Capture, encoding and playback all happen locally. The file only exists on your device until you choose to share it yourself.
