Reaction Time Test
Measure reaction time with red-to-green tap trials, series average and reflex bands.
Reaction pad
Reaction test status: idle · 0/5 · 5 attempts left
Private by design: taps never leave your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
Series average
—
Tip: Rest your finger on the pad and look at the screen center. One distraction can cost 100 ms.
Test your reaction time in under a minute
- Choose how many attempts the series has — 5 gives the fairest average.
- Press Start test and wait: the pad turns green after a random pause of 1 to 5 seconds.
- Tap the pad (or press Space/Enter) the instant it turns green — not before.
- Tapping early cancels the attempt and does not count toward the average.
- Finish every attempt to see the average, the best tap and your reflex band.
- For mouse-button health instead of reflexes, use the Double-Click Test.
Reaction-time questions
What is a good reaction time?
On this kind of tap test most rested adults average 200–300 ms. Under 200 ms is excellent; consistent results above 500 ms suggest distraction, fatigue or a laggy setup.
Why did my early tap not count?
Anticipating green is guessing, not reacting. Early taps are discarded so the average reflects real responses — the pad tells you and the attempt restarts.
Does screen or device lag change the result?
Yes, a little: display latency, touch sampling and background load all add milliseconds. Close heavy tabs and compare series on the same device for fair numbers.
How is the average computed here?
Plain mean of valid taps: 5 taps of 210, 240, 230, 250 and 220 ms average 230 ms. The page also shows the median and the best tap so one slip does not hide your level.
