Calculate any percentage case

  1. Pick the calculation: percent of, share of, increase/discount, difference, reverse, original, or chained changes.
  2. Type the numbers — commas work as decimals, and chained changes accept a list like +10, -5, +20.
  3. Read the result with the formula used, so you can check or reuse the math.

Percentage questions

A product went from $79 to $64. What is the discount?

Use one value as % of another: 64 is 81.01% of 79, so the discount is 18.99%. Difference mode gives 20.98% instead, a symmetric comparison.

I received $64 after a 20% fee. What was the gross amount?

Use reverse: type 64 as the known value and 80 as its percentage to recover the $80 gross.

Is 20% off plus 10% off the same as 30% off?

No: use chained changes with -20, -10. The combined drop is 28%, because the second discount applies to the already reduced price.
