How to play Minesweeper Pulse
- Pick Daily (the same board for everyone today) or Casual (a fresh random board), choose Easy, Medium or Hard, then tap any covered cell. The first tap is always safe.
- Numbers tell how many mines touch that cell. Empty areas open by themselves - follow the numbers to find safe cells.
- Right-click, or turn on Flag mode on touch screens, to mark cells you believe hide mines. Tap an open number whose flags are all placed to open every neighbor at once.
- Pulse mode is the twist: a shield defuses the first mine you hit, once per game, and the sonar (3 scans per game) tells whether a covered cell hides a mine without opening it.
- Open every safe cell to win. Win fast and with few flags to beat your best time on this device.
- Everything runs in your browser: boards, timer and best times never leave this device.
Good to know
What makes Pulse mode different from classic Minesweeper?
Three additions: a shield that defuses your first mine once per game, a 3-charge sonar that scans a covered cell without opening it, and a daily board that is identical for everyone on the same date and difficulty.
Is the first click really safe?
Yes. On casual boards mines are placed after your first tap, avoiding it and its neighbors. On the daily board, which is fixed, a mine under your first tap is moved elsewhere.
How do I flag mines on a phone?
Turn on Flag mode: taps place flags instead of opening cells. Turn it off to open cells again. On a computer you can also right-click any covered cell.
Which sizes are available?
Easy is 9x9 with 10 mines, Medium is 12x12 with 28, Hard is 16x16 with 55. Classic expert boards (30x16 with 99 mines) do not fit phone screens, so Hard is tuned for mobile.
